Introduction

Vehicle Mileage report contains information on odometer readings and GPS data on the distance traveled for a certain period of time.
Report allows you to compare the data entered by the mileage employee and the data collected based on GPS coordinates.

Building a report

Report Parameters

Before building the report, you will be asked to fill in the parameters.
Standard selections are not specified in the parameters. The default report generation period is for the last 7 days.
If necessary, you can use selections to specify which specific data you need to build a report on.

Following parameters are available for building:

  • Template selection: standard, custom.
    A custom template is available if the report was previously generated and its settings were saved by the user.
  • Selection of dates period for whitch you want to build the report.

  • Selection of time interval in hours for which you want to build the report.

  • Selection by organizational structure.

  • Selection of employees.

More selections you have specified in the parameters window, faster the report will be generated.

Appearance

By default, the report is generated in the following format:

Odometer at the beginning of the day (km)Odometer reading of the vehicle at the beginning of the working day, entered by a visiting employee on a mobile device.

Vehicle mileage on the Odometer (km)Mileage of the vehicle according to the odometer reading.
Vehicle mileage on the Odometer outside of work (km)Difference between odometer readings when there are several records from a mobile employee in one day.
Vehicle mileage by GPS (km)Automatically calculated mileage of the vehicle by GPS coordinates.
Discrepancy (km)Discrepancy between the data entered by the employee and automatically calculated by GPS.
Route on the mapDisplaying the route of the mobile employee on the map according to the data received from his device by GPS coordinates.

Report visualization

Column configuration

Display of the information in the report is configured on the right side of the screen - on the Columns panel (1).
By clicking on the Columns button, the panel will be hidden.
You can return it by clicking again.

Columns can be configured via the context menu of the column.
You can call it by pointing the mouse pointer to the right side of the column.



Through the context menu, you can access the following functions:

  • general settings (1)  
    • position (2), 
    • width (3),
    • grouping (4);
  • filtering settings (5)
  • and column displaying (6).



If filtering is enabled for a column, a filter icon will appear to the right of the column name.



Sorting by column (ascending or descending) could be done by clicking on its name.
If sorting is enabled for a column, an arrow sign will appear next to the right of the column name indicating the type of sorting.



Grouping records

It is also possible to group by columns, either through the context menu of the column Group by ... (1).
Or through the Columns panel, the field Grouping by records (2).
Then the column by which you want to group data, you need to drag into this field.

Output of values

Below is the Values field (3), where you can output the values you need for grouped data in columns in the report.

Values for grouped records will be displayed as additional columns with the appropriate name.

In the Vehicle Mileage report, by default, data is grouped by the Employee.
Default values for grouped records are column totals:

  • Vehicle mileage by Odometer (km),
  • Vehicle mileage by GPS (km),
  • Discrepancy (km).

Results

In the report, the total values for the columns amount (Mileage of the Vehicle on the Odometer (km)) and amount (Discrepancy (km)) displayed at the bottom of the screen in the "Totals" line.
